Netherlands Board of Tourism recognizes these hotels in Netherlands, which issues a shield to the recognized hotels. A hotel that displays the shield confirms that it fulfils the hotel standard set by Dutch law; such hotels can be trusted to provide the best accommodation in Holland for the tourists. Hotels in Netherlands are also rated by Benelux system in which the highest is 5 star hotels and the lowest is 1 star hotel, but membership to this system is voluntary.
